My 2001 SVT Cobra (fully stock) has a slow return to idle speed when releasing the throttle. I know it can't be too abrupt or it can stall, but it seems way off. This is much slower than the 2001 GT that I owned previously. It takes about two seconds for the engine speed to slow from a 3000 RPM clutch in and throttle release action during an upshift. Is this hanging at speed perhaps a CA emissions issue since my car was originally sold in CA? Since this "dashpot" function is electronically controlled, what type of programmer do I need to be able to adjust the rate of return to idle? Is this even adjustable on my car?
