Help?
I have the opportunity to get 2003 Cobra Vert supercharged with 15,000 miles on odometer. It was a ford buyback 5 weeks after it was originaly purchase in 10-2003.
VIN: 1FAFP49Y23F411980
I have reviewed a copy of the dealer service records and only find that
the buyback issue seems to be a bad battery - cracked eye and it was replaced.
Bill Currie Ford -
Within the next five weeks. The car went in for RAV inspection. Then Cooling System corrosion surface CCL87. Engine was pressured cleaned in front, water pump, radiator to clean up corrosion.
Car went back in for engine general appearance CCD50.
Tech Replaced valve covers, bolts, super chrger pulley corroded.
Car back in for exhaust system corrosion - Mufflr, exhaust sys tailpipe CCE43
Tech Replaced converters and mufflers, pressure cleaned complete underside and undercoat per RAV for appearence.
Ford Then bought this car back under FLorida 3 strikes same issue lemon law.
Car was shipped back to Farmington, MI - 12-2003
Then sold at auction back in FL - 2-13-04 to a dealer
New owner took title 3-06-04 with 627 miles on car.
Only other issues were 2 batterys replaced - not holding a charge then the alternator which fixed the dead battery issue. In 2005
Car has a remanufacture sticker on the door - says 12 mos / 12,000 miles wty.
Does anyone know if this is wty replacing the 3 yr / 36,000 mile or in addition to ??
Car cranks right up. Idles perfect and did not have a ticking driver side head.
Some minor cosmetic issues outside. Mint inside. Super charger and valve covers look like new.
Title is stuck with BUYBACK brand until 10/06.
A private owner can then take this off the physical title after 36,000 miles or 34 mos have passed from original 1st date of title.
car can be bought for around $20,000. Should I run far away or jump on this deal. How will it affect seling in 3 or 4 years. Title will show clean then.
How bad could the battery acid have been from 2 yrs ago.
Feed back please
