I am considering a 2004 cobra as my 'deep south' car (south carolina, florida)--- i'd love to hear some opinions on how to set it up based on what i want to use it for: pimpin, carving corners, dragging.

somebody sent me a link to the kenne bell supercharger site, and when ordering a set of coilovers from KW for my other car, i noticed that they are staging production for 1986-2004 mustangs--- the raw power and recent availability of some serious suspension is really changing my opinion of the mustang's viability!

here's my list of priorities:
1. must handle like an M3
2. must have brutal power
3. want 30% noise (0% = stock, 100% = ridiculous loud straight pipes)

where should i start?

1. I would definately go for Maximum Motorsports and call them to findout what the best road/drag setup would be. They can make the car handle like it's on rails with enough money.
2. Whipple/Kenne Bell has a blower swap that will get you 500-700 hp on pump gas. Need injectors, Maf and fuel pump upgrades at the higher end of the hp spectrum.
3. Go with the Bassani catback and X-pipe w/cats system for 40%- great power and sound.

If you are going for big power with these cars, you will need the rear diff brace from Mjchip, and stronger halfshafts. Also expect a new clutch and wider tires to be a requirment if you value 1st and 2nd gear.

the car has inherent understeer, but the 03-04 have the best job in feeling neutral for a Cobra, the stock suspension is the best to date

if you want to corver carve, stick with the 275's out back, or else you will be pushing the car in the corners and straining the front tires to stay hooked. but have a spare wider set for drag racing.

I know a few Kenny Belled, maximum motorsports 03's that pass anything in their way on open track..including M3's and Evo's

How about the 2005--- they're coming out later this year; what kind of improvements are scheduled? I figured that since i found a dealer with 4 2003's unsold, i could get a deal.

if you want a cobra now, you need to get one... there won't be any more made until the later part of 2006 & don't look for any major increase in hp... not like the 99 to the 03 value... IMHO You can get an 03 for close to $30k now, the new cobra should be closer to $40k... so the 03 is a bargain...
