Salem, Or.
I was driving by Skyline Ford in Salem today and they have a 2004 Mystic Cobra Vert. It has almost 11,000 mile and they are asking $30k for it. It has Aftermarket Exhaust and Cold Air kit. I was going to take it out for a ride, but did not feel like messing with thw sales guy. It sounds good and the condition is ok.

No, I am not trading in the Vette. :D :rlaugh:

the ford up here in olympia sold 2 cobra's within a week, 33k + taxes/licensing and another for 29k. the 33k one i know was an 04 with 28k miles. bone stock.

there was a waiting list 5 people long at some dealerships near tacoma as well. so i wouldnt be suprised if they sell for those prices at all.

I stopped and looked at it and they said I could have it for $25,900.
Did they tell ya the good ole "if I could, would ya" I use to love saying that when I sold cars to get people to sit down and start fillling out aplications and paperwork to see just how serious they are. Then they turn around and say guess what I cant get it for that but this what I can do:D and then the salesman says I never said I could get it for that I asked if I could would ya:p Sold alot of cars that way and pissed alot off to but the more chitt you throw on the wall the more chances there are that some will stick. But unfortantely thats how you have to be when your trying to make a living selling cars or should say to make good money. Guess thats why I dont sell anymore sometimes you have to have a play on words and be misleading. Not all salesman are that way but if ya wanna make the big bucks you better be prepared to. BTW my Cobra is definately buyable for that. That will leave you a little extra for anywork that might need to be done to it;) . Goodluck:nice:

I didn't give them the chance to pull me inside for the big sell.Very nice car though even up close. With the money I have in mine though I think I'm better off keeping it and forging the bottom end. Then upgrade to the KB 2.2 or a TT.

Thanks, Good Choice although I really took care of my cobra as far as oil changes ect. all royal purple threw the tranny ,rear end and tranny also enough wax on her to cover probably there whole car lot. I sure enjoyed that car. But im really enjoying my truck now, its like im trying to figure out what I can buy so I can load it in the back:p I thinks A YZF R1 Would fit perfect:nice:

I am not a big fan of the R1 myself esepcially after riding a new GSX-R 1000 and seeing how much more superior it is over the R1.

Personally I don't know why people put up with so much isht at dealers as I go in there with an agenda and if a salesman is going to bait and switch with price, especially with saying it's one thing and then another when I sit down them I have no problem telling him how big of a peice of isht he is and walking out.

People get so sprung at dealers and I just don't understand it as there are plenty of cars and patience is the key to finding the right one. I have NEVER had a deal take longer then an hour at a dealer, I just refuse to play their games.

Ya when I sold cars there was few customers that I would of liked to call a peice of isht to:p . As far as the R1 versus the gsxr 1000 I would'nt sat it was superior thats for sure especialy for looks The R1 IMO and many others is way better looking then the gsxr. The Gsxr has more power and handles better, but its not night and day power difference same with handling. If you take a rider with a little more skill and I mean just a little he's gonna take the gsxr on a road course and have a way better looking bike. I personaly dont care for the single stack head light kinda looks like Cyclopes or something else ,to be politicaly correct im not going to mention:D I prefer the cat eye type headlights one on each side and lines of the R1 are second to none, heres a pic of one same color like I use to have:nice:

I think it all comes down to attitude. Like Ed says:

There's two sides to it. I've never had any problems with salespeople, like the kinds of stories I hear. But I go in there with a good attitude, and I let them know that I fully understand their need to make a buck, and respect it, as long as they shoot straight we'll get along well. Yes they are trying to make a quick buck, but that doesn't make them a snake, we all get up in the morning and go to work for the same reason.

Oh, and I like the R1 looks too, but I'd probably go with that. I've ridden an R1, and it had more than enough power for me, (and I'm a pretty big guy!) so I doubt I would use the extra power or handling to make the difference.

I am definately with ya on the R1! I sure miss my cbr600, but that helped finance the Vortech so all was not lost!:nice: :nice: But seriously, half the purpose to a rocket is looks, I mean seriously, are you always going 120 with your hair on fire? I doubt it cause if you were, you wouldnt be typing, you would be eating through a straw. I have ridden plenty of R6 and R1's and I think they are amazing. Finally going to a two or three part chassis (I cant remember) helps with the handling and just shy of 200 hp is more than enough. Hands down R1. That is the most beautiful color as well. I say do it Ed!!:D

Bingo You hit the nail wright on head:nice: and as far as the R1, for me im so light that I used to beat guys with 750s on my CBR F3 600 and my gsxr 600 because of my weight advantage and "driving skills"<<<< j/k. So the R1 worked for me, a very good balance of power and looks. With 3rd GEAR wheelies doing 70mph all throttle that will definately get ya your need for speed fix:nice:

Your better off with the vortech , especially if your a family man or a family man in training lol. I used to be able to get out of the house so easily from my old ball chain and just say im going for a ride hun "although I did pay dearly usually when I got home" its a lot harder to justify going for a ride your in your car. It was great therapy for me and a escape route. I bought my cobra to try and fulfill my need for speed being without a bike , so im thinking why not get another bike since I dont have a cobra anymore than I can have the best of both worlds my truck and a bike for my adrenaline rush. :nice: BTW that cbr 600 was a blast , so I can understand how ya miss it
