Lord of uh, hmm what was it again?
Well as many of you know I am going through a divorce.
Well In a funny twist of the planets or something, #2 of the chain of 3 bad things that will happen to me has happened.

I lost my Job of 5 years last Wednesday.

And it was totally unexpected, and because of soemthing that happened quite a while ago.
My department Manager, and HR director were behind me, But the wonderful people in our corporate office made the decision that I was out of line and was then terminated.
So now I sit wondering what the #3 thing will be.
So needless to say I am terrified to get My SVO out, or work on the cars for fear something bad will happen.

So is anyone else having a bad year?

Sorry to hear about all your misfortunes man :( For me it was last year i wished never happened. Activated on my b-day in february to go to iraq....kinda lucked out in that i didnt go but sat on a base in upstate NY for 6 months....got hit by someone while driving a military truck and was sued over it. Then in October my g/f and I were nearly killed when some ricer in his RSX hit our car on the highway doing nearly 90mph. His reasoning...."we were racing" Yeah right in our 150k mile escort wagon. :rolleyes:

Sorry to hear about the job loss SVO1. :(

I hope things start to get better for you soon. One thing to do to beat the "bad things happen in threes" is make the third one happen. Stub a toe, burn some water while cooking, rain tomorrow instead of sunshine could qualify, just make sure you take it personally...

I had the number one hit me last year and got the other two and then some as a result without much impact... no pun intended (1) SVO was killed in a head on, (2) I almost died in the crash, (3) Needed 3 months of mental rehab, (4) After the swelling went down in my right foot it was found I needed reconstructive surgery on my ankle , (5) I lost my job due to the accident, (6) Had some accident related back problems creep up out of nowhere about three months ago due to a pinched nerve.

Because of the string of bad I figure I'll be ok for a while. It really is time for a string of good, but I'm a realist and keep my expectations pretty low. Keeps me grounded and easy to please. :nice:

i have had a bad year too so dont feel left out, i thought i met the best girl in the world ,thought i was going to spend a while with her but, she kept going between me and her EX and still does, ill still love her no matter what but, all the good feelings arent there , this has been going on since september and i have been realy depressed since then. then theres my car :notnice: , well i had it running good,then i got a ranger alt and bracket, put it in had a hard time finding belts, then i wired it up and left the wires loose and and the belts ended sucking the wires in and chewing them all up then i had to re wire it, then one of the belts broke that i had just baught $30 down the drain. then i roted my intake i go to bolt down the upper intake and thw welds crack, then i had to have it rewelded. then i had problems with the car idleing to high, now tonight i was driving and i just lost all power.come to find out its the altinator wires shorting out some where, so now tomarrow i have to unwire and untape the Alt and unbolt the alt to find out WTF is going on, i have to say this is the worst,most stressfull and depressing year of my life. oh and im all so failing some classes in school to. the BS never ends :nonono:

Edit : one more thing i just found out today also that my motor need to be rebuild after just being rebuilt about 6K mile ago. The rods are knocking.

Edit again:friend just called me and i found out the girl i was talking too had a big party and the cops showed up. my life F*** sucks right now.

i have now lost all hope with this girl :(

im now going to go get wasted......

Here's what happened to my in '04 so far.

* Got busted for DUI (I did'nt test so they are counting it as a refusal)
* DMV wants to take my license for a year (find out in hearing in 2 weeks)
* Paid $1750 Court fine
* $400 DUI first offender classes (18 3-hour sessions)
* Lawyer fees $3750
* Got busted by DirectTv for illegal satellite dish, $3000 settlement fee
* Don't even know what my insurance costs will go too, but won't be cheap
* Renters trashed and moved out of my rental , 1 months mortgage $600
* Renovation cost for rental, $4500 new carpet, linoleum etc.

Before everyone says thats what you get for DUI, yah I had a few but it was totally lame because I was not given an opportunity to test. Officer basically got pissed cause I said I wanted the blood test and said I was a refusal. I might have been over, might I say cause I had 3 drinks that night. The other crap that's happened basically left me wondering when it will all stop. Not my year.

I've lost too many friends and family to DUI... 1 is too many. It may not be what you deserve, but after everything that has taken place, will you ever take the chance again?

A good code of conduct would be never take the chance. If you have a 1 drink wait at least an hour. Add an hour for every drink through the night, but don't start the waiting period till you have your last one. This means after three drinks you get to sit around for three hours after the LAST beer and wait.

Seem extreme? So is dead.

This makes you think about when you really want or need to leave and dictates the number of drinks you have. If you can't do that you need to be babysat by a friend. Give someone your keys or make cab arraignments before you even go out for the night... That means take a cab to where you are going. No car - no way to DUI.

Two of the bad things that happened to you were a result of your own conduct? I'm not one to judge, but what goes around comes around. In your case you may be getting chances to change direction. You're not dead or in jail. I'd be taking these as good things, not bad.

On a positive note, keep that cliché in mind when you think about your previous tenants... payback's a .....

I see the point though and will never take the chance again. As far as taking cabs, blah, blah, I do know that when you're drinking you never think of stuff like that. You have to make the decision before you drink for the night. I hear all the messages loud and clear, however and have made the decision to not drink if I have car keys in my possesion. It is just too easy to crawl behind a wheel without even thinking about it.

I got a partially calapsed lung as of two weeks ago.
My two year old relationship girl and I almost broke up last week. (were fine now)

on the good side of things, my turbo motor is in and running! :)

cool you found a motor? :nice: didnt you have a hard time finding one??

I'm sorry to hear of all the crap that seems to be pouring your way, but at the same time maybe God is trying to show you something. the end of last year was not so awesome for me (2003) , had a hard breakup with my girlfriend of almost 3 years, lost my job, my car broke down and my cell phone was stolen. No money to fix any of them. Well looking back, i learned how to get around without my own car, learned how to make plans and stick to them (becuase you cant call me once i leave the house!), and best of all God removed a relationship that i thought was comfortable, and is teaching me daily to seek him first...and not a girl. the bible says "All things work together for the good of those who love God" , im not saying that turning your life over to jesus will make your wife or your job comeback, what i am saying is it will give you so much more than either one could have! Just my advice, guy to guy, i know it sucks ... i wish life was easy , atleast heaven is comming ! :nice:

ps: and my broken car is leading to the pending turboswap...all things work together for the good of those who love God, even when its impossible to see how.
