Is anybody else disappointed with the 05s? For like 2 years now I've been looking at pictures and just waiting for the day they came out thinking they looked badass (in pictures) and now I see them everywhere and they're pretty ugly.
I mean, don't even get me started with the tail lights, :bang: they are sooo ugly.
And the car is so high up off the ground, and the roof is way too high too.
I don't know I'm just really dissapointed, does anybody else feel that way?

I think this is the sexiest Mustang since the late 60's. The tail lights look just like the 99-04 Mustangs just a bit rounder. Not to mention the car just stands out and demands attention because of its stance and looks.

That being said the V6 blows because without the pronounced foglamps the grill is too large.

You are DEFINITLY in the minority. But then again some people also love the Mustang 2 and some also think the Foxbody is the best looking Mustang. Different taste for different folks.

You don't like the 2005's? Are you a fan of the classic mustangs at all? I think that the 2005 is the perfect balance between classic and contemporary. It looks like a redesigned '69. This is the best looking mustang yet.

I think the one that was probably worst looking (exculding Mustang II's and some '70s models) was the 99-04's. Don't get me wrong, I like the look, but when compared to the others it just doesnt do the mustang justice. Like I said (because I dont want to get replies calling me a hater or anything) I like that body, but like others much more. And, myself comming from a fox body mustang, I have to say I like those too, although many of you will probably disagree with me. Anyways, thats my rant, if you read this and feel let down, I'll give you a free shot at me. :D

Yup, my favorite being the 94-98, and owning a 'horizontal tailight' i still think it looks the best =D
but the 05's, i like, but lacks the word MUSTANG anywhere on it, which i would assume is a styling cue from the old fastbacks? lol, no more 'bumper inserts'

It says "Mustang" on the door sills.

Umm...I don't think that has to do with anything. The taillights on classic Mustangs actually look good. Not all cartoony. These cars will never look like the classic. The body panels are way to big and just goofy looking.

I saw a yellow '05 today with a black hood. It looked good. But I don't see what all the hype about the '05 is about. Sure it's new, but we've been looking at pictures of the damn thing for 2 years, and IMO it hasn't lived up to the image Ford built up for it; not to mention the pricetag.

PRICETAG!? Are you kidding? This car is virtually the same price as a brand new 2004 Mustang, yet the 2005 is a all around better car is EVERY respect.

Umm...the GT's are barely under $30k. That was actually Mach I territory in '04 last I checked. And do you really think you can get a GT for under $30k right now?!! With dealer mark-up I've heard $35k from the one person I know with a '05 GT. With the '04's you were paying less than sticker, not more. Why do you think the majority of '05s you see on the road are V6es? It's not because the GT's are reasonable, that's for damn sure.

Sucks to live were you are, but I havent talked to ANYONE thats payed over sticker for an 05. I've seen quite a few on dealer lots for under $27k.

Also 49% of all 05 sales have been GT's (per what the guys in the 05 forum are saying). I've actually yet to see a V6 on the road down here. Its been all GT's. Please check your facts before opening your mouth.

I haven't posted on here in a long time but I got on here today to say the same thing. While driving into work I saw a huge billboard and I can honestly say I'm not feeling the '05. It's like a caricature of a Mustang. It suffers from the same swollen, brutish proportions that destroyed the new Shelby Cobra prototype in my mind.

I bought one of the first '99s in the country, it was by accident, I went to get my '96 fixed and in the waiting room someone told me the '99s had arrived that very day. I was stunned. I had to have it and bought it without any money to my name and no job. I just had to have it, had to make it work.

Now with plenty of money and a great job I can't be bothered to even check one out. I live around the corner from a Ford dealership and one is sitting on the sidewalk desperately seeking attention. Even in red, it looks bad. I wouldn't have thought it possible for a red mustang to not thrill me.

As soon as I change the front spoiler on my 99, I'm going to consider it a masterpiece I hope to upgrade until it's no longer safe to drive on the streets.

Unless Ford can learn to streamline their nostalgic ambitions I'm gonna keep my '99 and maybe pick up a *gasp* family car for day to day stuff.

The irony is, when it was being shown as a prototype, I was excited, but even then the front end was too harsh for me. They toned it down on the finally product but it doesn't speak to me.

The capper was seeing the Saleen '05.... Waste of time. The new stang is so stylized, so brutish that there isn't much room for that trademark Saleen fantasy meets autobahn ambition look.

The Steeda looks ok but the Roush suffers the same fate as the Saleen.

I'm hoping the aftermarket gets creative and offers much more radical body kits than previous models. I'd like to see a return to the coachmaking days and get that better engine and upgraded suspension in a sexy new dress.

They arent supposed to look like them, they are supposed to resemble them. Why would they make a production model of a replica of a 30 year old car ?

That's how much the 2003 and 2004 GT's were as well.

My 2003 GT premium stickered at 26,500. Now, add the IUP ($300), the automatic ($800), the Mach 1000 ($1200) and the premium wheel upgrade ($300) and you now have a $29,100 Mustang GT. Now make it a convertible.

I saw plenty of $30K '04 GT's when they first came out.

A GT deluxe is $24,995...it's all the options that make it a 30K car.

disppointed with the 0-5's

Jeez, I have never heard so much bitchin about an new car in all my life.I guess Iam old school!!I own a 2000 and like the body style alot.I just drove a new Windveil Blue 05 Gt and loved it.It is more mature looking than the 04.No fake scoops anywhere,no boy racer look!!!You guys that are crying, have you driven one yet?I don't like cars riding super low because they may handle great but ride like ****,and most have speed bump damage to the chin spoilers. If you want a car with hudge spoilers, alteeza rear lights and that sits super low buy a Honda!!All the tuner cars look the same, fart can mufflers and big stupid wings.
The Mustang is and always will be the only car on the road that likes like it!!!
