Thanks for replying.
Ok, here's the skinny.
DTE FLI DATA ERROR when gauge goes to empty.
It started at one of my occasional track days. The fuel gauge would constantly slam to empty and the chime goes off (very irritating, if there's any way to turn that thing off I would surely love to know).
Usually after a few days of regular driving the gauge would return to normal until the next weekend at the track.
Then it started doing it during regular driving. Gauge wasn't correct. Ran out of gas when gauge read just over 1/2. Put in about 6 gallons and gauge read just over 3/4.
Judging by this I'm guessing tank is about 1/4 full and gauge is off by 1/2 tank.
Did some testing by unplugging connection to sensors on both sides. The results are:
Both sides plugged in = reads 3/4
Both sides unplugged = reads empty and error.
Pass side unplugged= reads 1/4
Driver side unplugged= reads empty and error.
I'm told that the gauge reading is from an average of the two sensors so I suspect that one of the sensors is bad or stuck.
Guess my main question is - which one?
Would like to have a clue before I start pulling pumps and sensors.

Sorry for lengthy explanation, but I think that covers it.
Thanks for any help.
