Just picked up a 2006 GT automatic car . The guy destroyed the tranny but i have a 90,000 original here to replace it . It needs quite a bit of work but it runs good and the main body has little damage . I parted out a 05 not long ago that had very good sheet metal so i am replacing doors forward just to keep from doing a bit of body work . It is a factory black premium GT with red leather interior , seats are not in good shape but the 05 i parted out had pretty nice red seats
The factory wheels are junk ,they have hit many curbs and are bent and scratched .i have a set of just about new Fooze wheels ,a bit flowery for my taste but a bird in the hand ....! I swear these Fooze wheels weigh 100 lbs each!.

The 05 i parted out was a burn out ,or so the guy i got it from thought ! He did some "radio work" ,used battery clamps with studs sticking up and when he shut the hood the studs touched the hood and fried the radio wires ,it burned the fuse box but not the wiring ,a few new fuses and i had it running . I couldnt register it because it had already been turned into the wrecking yard so i bought it for parts . It had 120,000 miles and a brand new rebuilt tranny .

The motor runs good ,but i have the motor from the 05 with only 120,000 miles ,the one in the car has 150,000 . So when i do the tranny swap i may drop in the 05 motor at the same time the aluminum dash plaque was replaced with fake carbon fiber plaques ,i dont care for it so i will replace it with the original aluminum look plaques from the 05

The body damage is definitely not the worst thing on the car. It's the wheels.

Yep ,i know ,they are about the ugliest things i have seen . I have American racing Anniversary edition wheels on my 05 ,just about the perfect wheel for these cars

Hood and both front fenders swapped out. Everything lines up very nice . The back end is in great shape ,the passenger quarter has a couple of golf ball size smooth dings ,i bought one of those scratchless dent puller systems but the glue lets go just before the ding will pull out ,cant get to them from the inside because it is a solid panel blocking the area so i think i will have to hole saw a nice hole in the inner panel to get at the dings . The front bumper cover is new but the kid left it sitting with a twist and now it wont come out ,i will try twisting it back and heat it with a heat gun and i hope the wrinkle will come out .
Soon as i get a couple of cars cleared out of my shop i will bring it in and fit the red doors . Then the sanding begins ,i havent painted black in quite a few years .

My brother just ordered a california special bumper cover for his sonic blue GT ,its a Ford piece and very nice ,bought it through LMR they were on back order for a long time ! Its safe in bed in my travel trailer until we paint it . I get his GT front bumper cover for my black GT so now i have everything for the black one .

Got the bumper cover off my brothers car ,its in pretty good shape ,once i sand it down i can get out the light curb rash on the very bottom . I get the lower grill and the turn signal lights with it ,he ordered new ones . I can buff out his old lights like new .
My grill has halo fog lights ,looks like they were never hooked up ,i will hook them into the park lights .i have a set of halo headlights also but my factory lights are in perfect shape .

I have been using this tire shine on my black parts ,it makes them look new . Headlights ,grill and turn signals look nice . I polished the lenses on the turn signals and head lights ,i have to remove the fog lights to polish them . For some reason i am missing my driver side turn signal bracket and it may no longer be available through Ford so i may have to find a good used one.

Ford still has both front turn signal mounts ,one was in stock and one will be here this morning ,$39 for both sides ,way more expensive through the mustang parts dealers !

Damn ! Picked up the paint ,sonic blue ,for my brothers new bumper ,a little over $400 for a quart of paint ,quart of reducer ,half pint of catalyst ,quart of clear and half pint of catalyst ,quart of primer with catalyst and a pack of 600 wet sand ,i have everything else we will need . I used to be able to buy a gallon of paint for under $100.
