Did you guys see the 2009 Mustang get a glass roof option?

Very cool, this thing is HUGE!

I've always wondered why they didn't at least offer a sunroof option.

Yes, that is cool. Only $1995 option. I probably would opt for it if I was in the market next fall

I think it's a reasonable price for what you get.
I would have ordered this instead of the vert if I lived in chillier climates.

One of the dealers by me has been doing that to Mustangs and charging the same price. The glass roof just doesn't do it for me though. Don't know why.

local glassback dealers want about $3000, so the less than $2000 price tag is even better!

I saw a Ford Edge yesterday with a glass roof. List price was $1,495.
I would want to see one in person before deciding, but it looks like a great addition.
All the changes make me want to constantly buy new cars. If only I were a multi-millionaire.

Seems like it would be an oven sometimes.
But I really like having the sky above you. Now if they could only figure out a way to OPEN the entire glass roof...

So does this mean the 2009 stang wont have the restyling we've been hoping for, or are those pics of the CDC glassroof?

This is the 2009 Ford Mustang. The restyling you have all seen have been conceptual and aftermarket applications.

Yes, this is the 09 picture from Ford.
I don't think there will be any major restylings until the 10 model year, at the earliest.

It means the restyle won't take place, until the 2010 arrives in mid/late 09
in which I've stated from the very beginning.

Kewl, perhaps this will make the others come down on the price.

Some will think it's a giant pane but I think it adds a touch of glass to the car. It's a ray of sunlight in an otherwise predictable options list. Many will say it's a gimmick but i can see right through that.

Seems they wanted to say this version was faster because the interior was lighter.

Aaah, thank you, Mr Fo-zzy Bear!

I'd like to see an LCD roof panel which has a screen saver on it of fish swimming about. It must be possible....

It's transparent to me that your posts are extremely enlightening.

I thought about that, what if they made the glass roof one of those electrochromatic panels where you could flip a switch and make it dark or opaque (that's a big word, I know)...

Eh...

I've never thought the Mustang is a "sunroof" type of car.

Well, if it's a convertible type of car, then why not?

I like the thought of making it a roof that you could darken or lighten with the flip of a switch. I will take one, please, at sticker or less. No dealer markups, please.

I'm dumbfounded that was so corny.

If I were buying another Mustang I'd get the glass roof. I wonder if it weighs less than the metal roof? Could lower the center of gravity of the car therefore it's not only aesthetics but performance upgrade too
