I think they're smoking crack. I'll be surprised to see anything more than a minor exterior tweak, a revised interior and a small bump in HP. I hope they don't mess with the exterior much.

If they really want to take the wind out of the sails of DC's and GM's new cars, all they really need to do is offer a low buck "LX" V8 package.

That's a picture of the Reflex concept car, a small tri-brid coupe, and I would agree, all I've read internally about the matter simply call for a refresh.

Ford doesn't have enough money to completely redo the entire car already. The refresh is said to bring small changes to the front, add some more muscular cues to the sheet metal and reduce the height of the glass. Look for the interior to get nicer plastics (soft touch), a smaller thickness steering wheel. The motor might see a bump to 350HP or less.

I think RPM reported that there might even be another Mach1 coming right before the refresh.

Alls I got to say is the 05 concept dont look like the 05. So dont believe it till u see it.
I am glad they say they are gonna boost the power.

That is f-ing disgusting.... too many futureistic looking cars nowadays.. can't we just go back to the 60's when muscle cars roamed the streets and gas was cheap as hell

That would follow with most line ups, cars usually stay around for 1 or 2 face lifts/updates before being replaced.

Doesn't always follow that way. But I would expect a new platform to be used for at least 10 years before any major changes.

Could be wrong though...

It would be nice if they made the next car look more like the concept though... Not that I don't like the new Mustang, but the styling is starting to get kind of plain as more and more of them show up on the roads.

I wasn't around back then but i taotally agree with you! At least the challenger is very close to its older body style.

Read that article again.

There is VERY little fact in the article. It is mostly speculation and things on their wish list. It is written to sound like they actually have some inside info, but it appears they have little if ANY factual information. Hell, they can't even get the platform of the current Mustang correct. There is NO such thing as "DEW-Lite". The platform that the S-197 is built on is named "D2C".

Of the top of my head correct me if I made a mistake,,

64-68 (4 years)

69-73 (4 years)

74-78 (4 years)

79-83 (4 years)

84-88 (4 years)

89-93 (4 years)

94-98 (4 years)

99-04 (5 years)

05-09 (4 years)

These are the mustang generations just to give you an idea of what changed, I have notice the mustangs last a around 8 years with the basic lines of the car unchanged as in 94-04 or 84-93 but in the 8 years there are to major changes for example the 94-98 and then 99-04 after the 8 years in this case 9, then the body changed completely to 2005, same thing with the shift from 93 to 94, the mustang from 84 So basically front a back will be changed and interior wheels options etc… but not a major change nothing yet like the 04 05 redesign

Well almost. If you want to break it down by Generation then

1st ... 1964 1/2 -1973

2nd... 1974-1978 (Mustang II)

3rd... 1979-1993 (Fox)

4th... 1994-2004 (SN95)

5th... 2005-& up (S-197)

If you want to break it down further by model years within generations that the cars remained unchanged (except minor trim changes) between face lifts and minor chassis tweaks then it breaks down like this:
