Has anyone heard about a "SKIP SHIFT" feature on the 6spd man trans?Found this in an article at cars.com .
I was a little disappointed to learn that the six-speed manual has "skip-shift," a fuel-saving provision that forces the shifter from first to fourth gear under modest acceleration. It's an annoying feature in a muscle car, though one that gear heads will find a way to disable.
It used to be in the C-4 generation Corvettes, it was easily disabled by removing a simple little spring. I'm sure aftermarket shifter manufacturers will delete that option.
go drive any of the newer GTOs or the catfish camaros with a 6 speed. it feels weird but you can either electrically lock it out or just dont bog the motor and you will never see it.
