Facetious or not, I'm curious about that, now that I think about it...they don't have a four cylinder turbo in anything rear wheel drive currently. I read that the engine is gonna be shared with the new Focus...so that's a little weird, a cross platform engine in both RWD and FWD configurations, not sure how that's gonna work.

From what I had read, this new 2.3T is a bored out 2.0T that's in the Focus ST. There is a guy over on autoblog.com who has been working on the 2.0T swap into a Fox for about a year now, I'm sure this will answer a lot of questions many people have just like yours. If only the motor didn't cost ~$10K from FRPP.

EDIT: Apparently the guy is now at Road & Track - http://www.roadandtrack.com/features/web-originals/features-web-originals-project-ugly-horse-part-10

Well, the duratec line of 2.3L engines had both FWD (Focus and Mazda 3) and RWD (Ranger/Mazda B-series) configurations, so it isn't unheard of.
