Will a Mark VIII mass air sensor work with the 5.0?I have two of the meters and sensors, and a set of 24# injectors.I have an A9P running my car now.I also have the 70mm Mass Air meter.

In order to use 24lb injectors you will need an aftermarket MAF or a custom dyno tune/chip. There is no Ford OEM MAF that is deigned to work with 24 lb injectors. All Ford computers are programmed for the injector size for a specific engine in their firmware program.

An X3Z ecu may still be an option for the 24's and ??? MAF meter....

Post all the numbers on the MAF meter you have.

The only way you can run 24's with stock Ford components is to have the X3Z computer and 70mm MAF housing that came on the Cobra/Thunderbird SC as the transfer function of that MAF is matched to those respective computers.

Why not post the numbers for the MAF meter you have first, then you can decide if the X3Z is appropriate for you.

Depending on what MAF you have, it may be more cost effective to do different things...
You need to confirm the parts that you currently have BEFORE buying more parts...

Don't bother. Putting an A9L/P MAF sensor into another housing renders the whole thing useless as far as trying to match it to a computer.

Air doesn't flow through sensor housings the same way in any two given housings. Since it doesn't flow the same way you need specific sensors to properly read the amount of air going through the housing.

Some of the things that affect air flow through the housings are size and shape of the inside of the housing and the size of the orfice that the wire is suspended in. Even the placement of the air filter can affect the meter readings. That's why some people clock their meters in an attempt to correct an issue.

My advice: Ditch the MAF that you have now and start over.
