I'm thinking about making a modern representation of a '66 2+2 Fastback with my '06. I've already sourced the tri-bar pony emblems from ford and found the other emblems. I understand that there are a few vendors who sell the V-style 281 emblems. My problem is I'm afraid that the 281 emblem is going to be flat contrasting with the reproduction 60's style embossed or raised emblems. I'm looking for someone who is making the raised or 3-D look from the old 289 emblems but have a 281 instead of 289. I want all the emblems to have the same style like the originals from the 60's. Any help would be appreciated.

i think saleens use 281 fender emblems, they are two part peices i believe but i could be wrong, in other words the "supercharged" part is seperate from the 281, so that may be an option for ya.

Thanks for atleast replying! I'm afraid that isn't what I'm looking for either. Keep in mind, I'm going for that classic look. From the 60's. Maybe whats out there will have to suffice but I'm afraid with the current 281 emblems it wouldn't go with the over-all style of the reproduction Mustang 2+2 emblems that you can get now.

Yeah, those are the ones I'm referring to above. I'm looking for authentic reproductions of the 60's style raised style.

Thanks though. I'm guessing nobody makes them....

Well, you could always make your own. Just buy an original 289 emblem and replace the 289 with 281. I'm sure it wouldn’t be hard to find raised lettering that matches the original chevron. Or even make your own chevron.

So does anyone have a picture of any 281 badges on 05+ mustangs where you can see most of the mustang. I think they look pretty nice. Would be a cheap way along with a few other things to set the appearance of you mustang apart from others.
