Ive got alot of 289 and c4 parts for sale on ebay.

289

original air filter housing
carburetor(converted to manual choke)
carburetor automatic choke housing

c4
bands(used)
clutches(some new some used)
steel plates(some new some used)
filter(new)
seals(new)
valve body gaskets(used)
original pan(used)
sealing rings(new)
vacuum modulator(new, screw in type)

Which carb? the 2v or the 4v? I'm curious about the manual conversion too since the auto choke one that came on my car doesn't work.

Its the 2v. The guy who used this carb had a cable running under the dash which he would pull on to engage the manual choke. I also have the auto choke housing, maybe that is your problem?

Yeah, I'm not sure what my problem is. No amount of adjusting seams to make it work. The car runs, but carb is just permanently wide open. I suspect it has something to do with the hose to the manifold, or the choke housing as you said. I want to upgrade to a 4 barrel anyway and the problem should go away.
