289 to 302[B][/B]

well im having to many problems with my 289 so im considering puting in a new 302 and making it a stroker so im wondering sense i just put on a new manifold and headers on the 289 will it fit on the 302 and if so how much and will it be a very difficult trans...im the the best with engines so if someone can help and explain to me what to do, my 289 is going to die soon and i just bought headers and mani. on it so i want to get a new engine but if i do that i might as well get a 302 so please let me know....Thanks guys

The only differences between a 289 and 302 are the crank, rods and pistons. Everything else is interchangable for the most part.

There's no use buying a new 5.0/302 and then converting/stroking it--- you've just doubled the cost.
Either buy a good 302/5.0 block and stroke it, buy a stroked crate motor or rebuild/stroke the 289.
