Wow I havent been on here in ages! Ok so Im out of college and getting back into putting money into the mustang.

I will be getting a fat tax return this year and want to put some money into rims and tires.

The rims I am looking at are the Weld Prostars Either the 15x8 with 5.5inch BS and +25mm offset or the 15x10 with 6.5in BS.

Now for my question...I am looking to put a 28inch tire on it but wondering about rubbing issues. Does anybody have any information on this or run a 28inch tire with no issues?

the car has stock suspension and right now I have the DD bullet 17x10.5s in the rear now and a nitto NT555 315. I have slight rubbing issues on the passenger side exhaust pipe. This is why I am curious if a taller 28inch tire with a different backspaced rim would make a difference.

The stats on the 17x10.5 rim are a 6.8 BS and 28mm offset.

any help or experience would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!

I think with stock rear springs, you should be alright. Mine is lowered 1 1/2", and with 27x11.5 Hoosier Quick Time Pro's, it rubbed slightly. The Hoosier's are actually 10" wide. The 28x11.5 MT ET street is listed at 8.6" wide. With both of those tires mounted on a 15x8 rim with a 5.5" backspacing, the MT's will sit a little narrower than the Hoosier's I had. With either of these tires, it should have plenty of clearance for your exhaust also.

If I were you, I would get the 15x8's with a 5.5" backspacing. It will give you a wider range of tires that will fit the rim.

Here's a picture of how it sits with the Hoosier's...

Thanks man! Your car is looking Great!!!

It is good to be back into the mustang i definitely missed modding it and now that it is not my daily anymore its go time!!

The end goal for this car is 800rwhp either through a turbo set up or nitrous and large kenne bell.
