2V and 4V

what is the difference between 2V and 4V? what does it mean??

2 valves per cylinder vs 4 valves per cylinder, or 1 intake and 1 exhaust vs 2 intake and 2 exhaust.

Another way to think of it, 2v = 265 HP. 4v=305 HP.

Modular 2V has a single overhead cam per head to open the 8 Valves. SOHC - Single Over Head Cam 2V.
Modular 4v has 2 overhead cams per head to open the 16 valves. DOHC - Dual Over Head Cam 4V.

Rocketman said it well. 2 valve motor is one cam per head with 2 valves per cylinder. 4 valve motor is 2 cams per head with 2 intake 2 exhaust valves per cylinder.

BTW, the reason 4v's make more power than 2v's is because 4 smaller valves make a bigger hole (and flow) more air.
