What would you choose between a 5.4 2V and a 4.6 4V? Lets say they're both equal in terms of boost, compression, modifications, etc...which one would you prefer to have, which one do you think is superior, and why?

4.6 4v! A 5.4 2v would be out of breathe by like 5500 rpms.

4V 4.6 FTW!!!

You can't beat the sound of a 4.6 4V. If money isn't an issue you can build an 8K RPM screamer, or when boosted the 4V heads flow so well it's easy to cram lots of air into the combustion chamber.

5.4's are alright, but there aren't really any good intakes available (unless you are using a lightning supercharger), the bore diameter is very small while the stroke is very long (not ideal), the 5.4 is heavier than a 4.6, etc...

Yeah, 4.6 4v too. Those things are proven horsepower monsters when done right. Alot of aftermarket parts already out there for them too.

No engine can be compared to the 4.6 4V or the 2V either. They are the best motors ever made.

4v is superior to the 2v, but the 2v is still a great motor and has lots of potential. Blown, built 2v can see 600+ hp which is more than enough for most.

I would say that the 4v is superior in NA trim. With boost they are equal, imo.

No way is any 2v equal to a 4v with equal mods! I love 2v but 4vs are miles ahead

Go with the 4v. Also to me the 05-10 4.6 3vs make power just as easy as the 03-04 N/A 4vs.
