Hey guys, Is there a way I can tell if I have 3.73 gears without opening the rear. I bought an 01 GT 5 speed used and it feels like it could be. I don't want to buy the gears and go to have them installed and when he opens it they are already there. That would be a huge waste of a lot of $.

thanks
Dave

Jump on the highway and get your stang up to 80mph. If your RPM's are around 2750 or so you have 3.73's. If your RPM's are around 3000 you have 4.10's. Later,

Mike

Okay, okay... But there really is an ample amount of info out there, not to mention that it's really an easy mathematical equation. Put it on jack stands (or equivalent), spin the rear tire one revolution, and count the drive shaft revs. It's not rocket science.
