I am going to put either 3.73 or 4.10 gears in my 96 gt but dont know which. The car is on the highway some but mostly just around town. Ive herd both ways anyone can give me any advice it would be great and even what brand gears. Thanks

Why do people even ask which gear to buy anymore? By default, the denizens of StangNet will tell you to get the lowest gear out of your choices. And if you don't list 4.10, they'll tell you to get it anyways. If you list 4.10 or 4.30, they're going to say 4.30s.

Why is this so hard to comprehend?

I think 4.30s in a 96GT with the stock power band would be overkill, even in the automatic.

3.73's are an all around gear. They give you a little more acceleration and are a little more forgiving on the highway, rpm wise. 4.10's are for faster acceleration but they rev a little higher than the 3.73's on the highway. Since you will be mostly around town, go with 4.10's. Don't look back, just go get them. You'll be sorry if you don't. Most people, not all, with 3.73's usually wish they got 4.10's, after they already have the 3.73's.
