How many people are using 3/8 phenolic spacers, what are the pros and cons of them? on a gt40 setup? thanks for your help!

i have one on my cobra intake. i got it so that the intake would clear my fox valve covers

some say it helps keep the upper intake a bit cooler

I got one on a gt40/explorer setup, rubs the liner of the hood pretty good, upper intake is a bit cooler, dunno if it had any gain or not, im taking it out when i put my motor back together.

From everything I've seen, most peeps run em for more clearence between bottom of upper intake and vc's.

I've had no need for one so I can offer you no real experience data.

Upper intake is much cooler than before when I put mine on. Very noticable difference touching. I put mine on as the same time as my heads, cam, and intake so I really don't know about the SOTP meter.

I dont think its much, maybe 5 hp

when i put mine on i had troube with the tube that goes connected to the headers
