3.9 Liter v-6 ?

I saw it listed on some window stickers on '04
models. Is this a "new" engine or is it still the same
3.8 and they are just calling it 3.9?
Just curious because I have never heard of it except
for 3.9 v-8 in the Lincoln and Thunderbird.

is it entirely new, or based on the old 3.8?
I did a quick search, and looked through the ford website... they say it is a 238 cu in (3.90L) OHV V6.
Doesn't have any more power.

It has a different bore and stroke, that's all.

The bore is virtually the same. It's the stroke that changed.

It still the same virtual engine in every aspect except for a couple parts (crank, rods)
