Hello fellow stangers, This one's probably going to sound a little funny to some of you, but here goes. I want to lift the front of one of my II's about 3" to give it a vintage "Gasser" stance and to transfer weight to the rear of the car (wheelie time!). I will be running 295/50/15's on the back, and 195/70/14's on the front. Question is, what would be the best way to lift the front? (on a budget)- $150.00 or less. Longer coils? Air shocks? Spacers?

Wheelie time....

Hey Sleeper, Do you mean just factory Fox body springs will give me that much lift to the front? As far as relocating the rear axle, I'm just going to jack up the front end, and raise the rear enough to clear the tires w/o rubbing, relocate the battery to the back, and any other means of simple weight transfer. I really just want the basic look of a gasser, and if it pop's wheelies on the launch cool, but otherwise I just want something that looks cool, and runs mean. Apsychotic

I have done what you are refering to... and I love the look! Dont go 3 inches though. The most you can do is 2 inches and at that the wheel camber can not be set exact. (weee bit off) I did 2 inch lift custom coils from a custom spring shop here. It was a bit tense putting them in too, it's a real squeeeeeze!! I also had the rear springs re-arced and custom shocks put on to level the car out. I was a bit worried about the 4X4 look but it turned out AWESOME! I do have a pic of it on my web site if your interested. (the pic in front of the grey house) I can also hook you up with the spring place that did mine here in Utah. I'm sure they would ship them to you. Best of luck...
PS yea it launches awesome see vid of lauching on
www.somervilleracing.com theres a video page...

It takes way more than I have... You need 600HP or so with a 4 link ladder bar set up underneath. and BIG slicks, like in your pic. My pic is a reaaaaaally good photoshop job. Cut, rotate, paste, fill...

Cut n' paste

That's surprising to me, I can usually pick out a Cut n' paste job imediately! I must have looked at your pic at least 30 times and never noticed. After you told me, I looked closer and could tell because of the angle of the reflection of the clouds in the door glass. I added the flames to my pic in paint shop pro, I don't know who's car it is, wish it was mine!
