what would it take to run 300-350 hp to the wheels.

i would also have eibach drag/launch kit w/ bags, lake wood 50/50 shock, lakewood 70/30 drag struts, steeda subframe connectors, steeda hd rear sway bar, steeda front sway bar, 4.30:1 gears, eaton diff, moser 31 spline axles

what times would i run it will be stick and im a fairly good driver.

My 302 combo was: Stock 80K shortblock, AFR 165's, Ed Curtis cam, performer RPM intake, 70mm tb, 76mm maf, 30# injectors, 1 5/8 un-equal length shorties, 2 1/2 exhaust. My car made 303/332 at the rear wheels through a tremec. With Ed's cam, idle/driveability were as good as stock, and the car got 17-20mpg around town and 24-26mpg on the highway. With street tires and consistent 2.2 short times at 3240lbs with me the car went a best of 13.4@109. Couldnt have asked for better.j
mike.

BTW, I now have 275/50/15's. Need to modify a little to fit.

Afr, Twisted wedge, or edelbrock rpm heads with the rest of the supporting parts, such as necessary fuel delivery items, intake and cam, should get you there easy.
350 on a stock block is quite the stretch. Figure you are more likely to get 290-320.

swap in a 351w throw some afr 185s and a cam (hydroller)with some where in the neighborhood of .560"lift and over 250 deg dur and with all the proper supporting equiptment you will hit those rwhp #s easy. from all my dealings its very hard to get 350 rwhp out of a 302 (and keep it streetable). chris

Don't forget a good tune is vital too but it can be done. Long tubes will help if emissions allow. A fresh shortblock will also help a lot too to keep up the compression. If you are going through all that work, for a few hundred bucks it might be worth freshening up the block... if you go stroker pretty 350hp easy.

300 and 350 is a huge difference.

300 at the wheels is easy.

350 at the wheels is not, with the stock bottom end NA.

which one will it be then?

Do a 347 instead of the 351, it's lighter, the swap is far easier, and can produce just as much power.

If you spend the money for that, why not a 408-427 351 based stroker then Have yet to see a box stock part, hydro roller, pump gas 347 make the #'s my 418 has. If there is one out there, I'm sorry, just havent seen it.

Maybe not, but i've seen 444 in person, full wieght car, run 10.70@124. And a string of others un-dyno'ed go low 11's all day.
453 is alot to beat, but you also have TW R heads. You likely spent double what a 347 combo would cost. You can get 400 with box stock 302 heads, and way more with race heads similar to yours. And run a similar time but with much less mph.
Nevertheless, he's looking for 350 rwhp, with an EFI car, not 450.

I looked at your timeslip, nice mph, but how did the car come up with 126@11.5 with a 1.6 60ft.? (not busting your balls, i'm just curious). With such a good 60ft. and such a high mph, i'd expect that run to be in the 10's.

A 347 combo with the "same" parts as mine, would have been the same money, not double. Rotating assemblies, heads, cam, intakes, all cost just about the same money. The only thing I probally spent more on would have been the headers.

Thanx for the comments. The time's and mph came from me being a lousy driver Not to mention, a shortshifted shakedown pass. The car now has a C4 in it, should do 10's with no effort next time out. The car had a weak 1/8 mile that we could not figure out either. But it picked up just about 32mph on the top

The motor made 581/539 flywheel #'s. Not sure I believe the chassis dyno #'s, (long...........story). My weight at that mph works out to 500+rwhp by the slide rule.

Ya, you are right i shouldn't of said double, but there is the fact that a 351 is not a direct swap. Odds and ends add up. For the 347 if you are staying NA the stock block can be reused, saves a few more bucks.

I figured something happened in the middle of your run at the track, the numbers just didn't add up. And with the 1.6 60ft. i knew it wasn't a traction issue.
C4 should be easy 10's with those numbers, BD actually tried to get my buddy to do it, but he just wanted to stay manual.
