the intake wont fit a 351. the headers will fit the heads but will sit higher & wider in the car so might have clearance issues & the exhaust will have to be mod to fit. I was thinking of going that way too until I saw how much I would have to change & I dont like buying parts twice.

The oil pan is different, the distributor is different, the stock hood won't close without work, accessory brackets won't fit. People who have done it, love it and say it's worth the extra work, but it does take some extra money and effort.

The 408 will be worth the extra work and its really not that bad, if you are going from 302 to 347 your 302 oil pan and headers will probably not be used anyways so you are really not buying that many new parts

The swap stuff isn't cheap. $500 and change for headers. $150 for the pan/pickup. Hood $400+. Distributor. Lower intake from the 5.0 doesn't fit so you'd need that too. Then fuel rails (if you go EFI). Injectors. Custom tune. Exhaust mods if needed. Pullies and brackets. Transmission (stock T5 won't last long). It's really not all that much work but the money part gets expensive.

I hashed this back & forth for a good while. I still may do it eventually if I decide to keep the car. But the price difference was in all honesty too large to justify it. Would have been another $3,000-$3,500 to do it the way I wanted to do mine. But it would have been 408" EFI, T5, and have power steering, brakes, A/C everything. I DRIVE my stuff..unless it's the 'other' two cars and they're dedicated race cars. A 5.0 with a few mods will suit me just fine and knock out better MPG. I don't always need 500+ HP. 350 will do the job just as well and typically with a lot less tire spin

I did a 351w conversion for about $1500.
Could have been a little less if I had not used the Canton 7qt pan.

Here is some info...
351w Fox Body Swap
351w Intake Manifold Heights

The ecu doesn't require a tune if the right MAF is used, but it does help...
I used the stock hood, and will use it again with the new vic jr efi setup I'm switching to...

Could you elaborate on how you're going to make that work? I'm curious.

I want to measure mine. It doesn't look that tall.

All of this stuff minus the distributor will have to be purchased for a 347 that you build. The pulleys and brackets are no big deal and a t-5 wont last behind a 347 built right

I tried solid 3/4" drop mounts on the old setup, but it dropped the Canton pan on top of the k-member.
I'm currently using Energy Suspension motor mounts, standard vic jr lower, and an elbow from Wilson Manifolds. I had to cut the elbow down at the lower mounting flange, but the current height of the intake is now about the same as the height of my previous intake.

There are also a couple of companies out there that will make custom sheet metal elbows as well...

so my new cobra intake and distributor and headers won't work. i converted to mass air and 24lbs injectors. where would be a good place to take it to have the work done here in az. if anyone knows. what do you think it all will run me about to have it all done right.
