i was thinking of just making the motor a 306 but i wanna also consider other options
can i use a different crank besides stock with the .30 pistons and get a larger stroke n power out of my motor

With the stock Compression height piston at 1.60" you can not change the cubic inches or stroke with out getting rid of the pistons you currently have. The strokers use different cranks, longer rod lengths and shorter pistons.

So the short answer is NO, unless you want to buy a new rotating assembly.

The block can support any of the stroker combos. The crank, rods, and pistons have to change, and match each other.

with a 3.4" stroke, 5.4" rod and a 1.6" compression height 302 piston it would only stick out of the bore above the deck by 1/2". lol

just buy a stroker kit that comes with the crank, pistons and rods you want. You can order the pistons .30 over to match your machined cyclinders. Just make sure you know the cyclinder size before you order, if it was .30 over on a stock block your probably looking for 4.030" pistons. Thats the easiest way in my opinion.
