My engine is pretty stock and wanted to do some upgrades. I was thinking of a 306 it's a daily driver. I just wanted to see how much you guys spent on your 306 i dont wanna get ripped off their are 2 shops i know can get the job done wel. I havent price quoted them yet how much would to much be for an 306??

do you need to rebuild your motor, or can you buy a shortblock ???

as for companies, never heard of anyone getting ripped off from CHP, or DSS.......

THEY RUN ~ 1200-1400 for a 306 shortblock, generally.

good luck!

yeah its gonna puke any day yeah i do not have that great of a job so i'll need a rebuild

but as far a s parts go i can get it rebuilt and here are most of the parts im gonna get put on the block

HP forged stroker crank,Eagle H-beam rods,JE pistons/rings, FM bearings, ARP main studs, AFR 165 heads, Accufab t/b, Cobra ported intake, cumstom grind cam, someother stuff he told me for alittle under $5000.00 what do you guys think

I think a lot of people misinterpret what a 306 actually is. All it is is a 302 bored .030" over......no big deal and you would notice almost no increase in power. It's just something that is usually done when rebuilding an engine to make sure the cylinder walls are nice and true.

check my garage for my setup, i love how it "behaves" on the street and stil be able to rip it up. the gas milage isn't too bad either compared to stock, it is worse but, eh thats the price of performance.
