I'm going to be rebuilding my driveline with FRPP 3.73 gears, a motive bearing kit, trac-lok rebuild kit from Steeda, and FRPP aluminum driveshaft. Ultimately, I want to put a KB on the 'stang, so I'm thinking maybe I should upgrade my carrier and axles while I'm in there. I already have the parts mentioned above, minus the carrier and axles. For axles, I'd get Mosers. My question, then, lies with the carrier. What 31 spline LSDs are out there, and which are the best? Would I be okay with just getting a used carrier out of an F150 or Cobra? Thanks!

I would get an Eaton from American Muscle or one of the Cobra's with carbon fiber clutches from Stangmods.

Erik, thank you for your quick reply. I've heard bad things about the Eaton unit (or more accurately, I've heard they're not worth it). Along the same vein, I'm not looking to spend $269.95 on a carbon-fiber-clutched cobra carrier when 31 spline units can be had on eBay for less than 40 bucks. Plus, those carbon fiber clutches sound nice, but I already have a trac-lok rebuild kit that I bought new from Steeda, so I'd like to use it.

Don't forget to weld the axle tubes.

+1, I use a used rebuilt Exploder diff, and USA Alloy axles.
