will i still be able to drive the car everyday. I have removed sway bar 90/10 struts 4cyl springs, removed power steering and 4:10 gears and this is my dayily driver. I think it is still streetable now will geting 31 spline axle and a spool make it too much worst. I like to launch the car but I need it to be reliable to. money is also on the low side right now so I need a quick fix.

The normal advise on this is no, a spool is not good for the street.

It will have to slip the tires everytime you go around a corner, or break something. Not good in the rain, because you will always have a wheel with no traction, sometimes both.

That said, I have one friend who has had a spool in his 67 Mustang, old school 8 in rear, for a year now, and driven it on several 1000 mile trips.

He did, however, break a spring shackle early on.

For a primarily street car I would recommend against it.

I'm with rd on this one. That spool will put a tremeondous amount of stress on the axles when you make a turn. Not to mention it will be very unstable.

I have a spool in my Daily driver for 4 years now. Wouldn't change it for the world. I love it. Not everyone can handle it or is scared of it.

Pros:
Reliable
Cheap
Predictable
Best power to the pavement action you can buy

Cons:
Maybe bad weather?
Tire wear?
Possible wear on chassis if not reinforced?

I don't think I'd want to run daily, but I certainly have a 33 spline setup in my car that I don't mind driving around. If you have softer tires you will notice it even less. I have ET Streets on my car and really only notice the spool when parkingin tight spots or slow tight turns. The soft tires don't chirp around corners.
