I am starting with an 89 coupe 4 banger and converting it to a strip/ street car mainly a strip car. Which motor should I run a 347 or 351. I plan on runnin a blower or centrifugal not to long after the build. I guess CHP is a good company to go with. ANY THOUGHTS?????

Like most cases, it depends. The 347 youll have to take a stock block (guessing you dont want to spend a fortune on an aftermarket block). Have a machine shop machine the block and pretty much build the 347 short block.

With a 351 you can just go and find the engine in an old truck and switch some parts.

Like I said it depends what you want to do and how much money you want to spend. Youll have to build the 347 out of a 302 block, you can find a 351 in a truck and just drop it in your car, wont be the fastest thing around but its a 351

347 gets my vote.

I'll start by saying good luck in keeping this thread alive. As I have been told about this particular topic, the search button is your friend.
