Hey guys, so any advice will be much appreciated, me and my dad tried to get my new 347 trick flow build up and running, checked engine off error codes and everything is looking good set timing to a base 10 degrees, and have about 60 psi of fuel pressure. I am going to take my battery in to make sure it isn't toast, have had the battery charger on it and the engine is turning over, and is trying to start, but it seems like the starter could be having trouble... its the original one, anyone notice a real improvement with a high torque mini starter??

Anyways, any help with trying to get this thing up and running would be great!! Any suggestions???

Thanks

Cheers Guys!!!

45 psi would be a good starting point. Also, you may need a high torque starter too. My buddy had a 331 high comp motor and the stock brand new (Ford OEM) couldnt do it.

Hey so I set my fuel pressure at 45 psi!! Thanks!!!

My battery is okay and is charged right up, but it is trying to start and is turning over, but it does sound like the starter is struggling, so I just ordered a hi torque mini starter, hopefully that should help me out. It should get here before the upcoming weekend!

I have turned the engine by hand to 10 degrees and have the rotor and distributor turned to right on number 1. Just want to confirm one thing, on the balancer it says 10 0 10 20 30 40 etc. so to advance would it be the 10 towards the 20. Just want to make sure I am not having it retarded by 10 instead of advanced. Thanks!!

Any other advice would be great!! Thanks, I did take the top of the cap, spark wire off to let it turn a bit to get the oil moving first, probably dumping a bit of fuel in there, didn't do it too much. I hope it fires right up with this high torque starter!
