347 twisted wedge heads tfs2 cam holley systimax intake, bbk 70mm tb 30# injs aeromotive rails and regulater,255 pump,pro-m meter, long tube mac headers, mac 3" pro chamber,2 chamber flows dumped,
tremec 3550 3.73 gears and more suspension mods. This is what I had in my 91 with about 30,000 hard miles on the motor, it made 365hp 435tq at the wheels. The rings were worn and compression was down a little but it was still churning out the power.

Stock engine/Vortech SC-Trim at 10psi with an AFR off the chart rich = 357rwhp/383trq SAE

Would have made closer to 400 with a tune, but went turbo. Havent dynoed since though.

what about what really counts, track proven horsepower?or are you wanting it to be a dyno queen?

yeah it counts as a buncha power 04sleeper. lol.

a dude called me and wants a 350-400hp. in his fox.
his car is bone stock as far as i know.
i am just coming up with ideas because i have to talk to him tomorrow.

i am thinking that heads, cam, on a fresh stock bottomend and a vortech will be the thing to do.

I think the last time I was on the dyno my car made 425hp/441tq.

306 with AFR 185 heads, TFS stg 1, GT-40 intake, BBK 65mm tb, SCT BA-2400 maf, 42 lb injectors, etc etc. Vortech V2 S-trim @ 9psi.

Finally going in after New Years for a more aggressive tune. Took a while to get some mileage on my new motor! I'm ready to turn up the wick a lil.

That will more than do it. My buddy's car with that basic combo and an S-trim made 475rwhp @ 11-12 psi with old school iron Windsor Sr's, an F-303, a Performer intake and a conservative tune. It makes 15-16 psi on a nice cold night so I can't imagine what it's making! I will direct him here later.

a set of NOS stickers, a chrome fire extinguisher on the A-pillar, and a stick on hood scoop will easily get you there

Combo in sig @ 8psi...

The turbo's exhaust housings are far to small for my cam...so next year I'll be upgrading the housings to more closely match my combo...which should not only give me more power, but allow the engine to rev to 6k and without loosing torque.

350 should be pretty easy to do with either a good stroker HCI or an HCI 302 with a blower/turbo.

350rwhp can be done with a stock bottom end and a good heads/cam/intake selection. You don't need a supercharger or turbo and hci or a stroker for 350hp LOL!

LOL...well sure it can be done...but at what cost. Not only would it be expensive....but a motor like that would most likely have poor street performance/driveability...and a terrible powerband.

A stock 302 bottom end would make it even harder. To make 350+rwhp with a stock bottom end would require a pretty serious HCI. At the bare minimum you would want to get some higher comp pistons in there...so you can keep the combustion chambers at a decent size. Remember you would still need a pretty serious cam to make 350+rwhp on an N/A 302!!!!!

I wouldnt mind seeing some dyno graphs of a stock bottom end 302 making 350+ rwhp!! hahaha

Not to mention i think if this guy builds this dude a motor that barely makes 350rwhp he will be disappointed. The easiest method is a mild HCI with FI...or a stroker.

Ninety5.0 is correct

I'll pass on the high compression, trick built engines with "secrets" to get 350 rwhp.

Stroke to a 347, add a decent h/c/i package and there you have it

i agree with you.
but i also agree with the one below. i do want him to feel like he got his money worth.

i think i should put close to 300hp to the ground with my hci combo. stock internals. (its a 1992 hatch and has been 12.4@108) just a set of ported iron heads* its going on the dyno at HIGGINS FORD PERFORMANCE for a tune within a month

You cannot throw together a pair of heads, camshaft, and intake (even if picked out nicely) and expect 350 rwhp.

Details, details, and more details, along with some quality throw-in will need to be addressed.

Getting rid of accessories, using electric water pumps, vacuum pumps, less friction, etc, are all used by many of the high rwhp number guys.
