351c block

I bought a 351 cleveland block. It has been cleaned and magnifluxed. If i got it bored .030 what might it be worth? And could I get my money back for having it bored. I guess what would it be worth before and after boring.

It would be worth more unbored because you can only bore a cleveland block out to .030. After that, you'll get cooling and cracking of the main web problems. So don't bore it out if it doesnt need it. At most give the cylinders a clean up cut if that is all they need.

I also agree, DON"T bore it. For a block to be bored correctly, the pistons that are going to be used in it need to be with it, for the machinst to correctly fit them to the bores. If you don't have pistons, you don't need to have it bored.

I just sold a standard bore 70 block (strongest year) at the local swaps for $150. I paid $100 for it almost 10 yrs ago, it has been sitting since. Cleveland stuff was worth more back then, I hoped for a better return, but C stuff is in decline.
I don't know the shape of yours, but mine was tanked, painted, and ready to go back standard. If yours is borderline, or HAS to be bored, I don't know what you would get. One thing is sure, you will get less having it bored, even if it needs it.
I guess what I am saying is:
If you bore it, you pay for the work and get $X amount.
If you don't bore it, you don't pay for work and get the same amount.
