I have a 69 351W block that i want to stroke to be able to run 10's N/A in the quarter mile while retaining driveability and durability...I am going with a carb setup and was wondering what parts would you use and what stroke would you go with??(assuming a well tuned suspension)...This motor will be going into my 89 LX Notchback...any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated...thanx (I'm almost certain that i will be going with TFS R Series Heads if this helps)!

belive it or not what your asking is not a hard task. i have seen sevral guys run in the mid to low tens without much done to an engine. a 408 can easliy do it.the heads you are looking at are the straight poop. a eagle 408 kit that has srp pistons h beam rods and a fordge crank. has been proven. a good solid lifter cam is needed to do the trick. doesnt have to be a roller cam. seen it done with box stock vic jr heads.

parts i would look at is a super victor intake. on heads the r heads are super, hight ports work good and so do vic jrs. a good set of header helps. something like 1 7/8 into a 3 in collector. saw a car do it good with 1 3/4 headers. a good carb helps. i do all my business with jesse bigwell give him a call at bigs performance 715-835-3726. other parts a stud girdle for your heads. rockers depends on your cam. talk to jay allen at CAMSHAFT INNOVATIONS http://www.CamshaftInnovations.Com . a good stout bottom end is a must. like i said it is easly done.
