I have a 65 Mustang shell that is mostly rust free, and a rusty 65 donor car with no engine or transmission. I plan to install a 4.6 and 3650 transmission in the shell. There is some rust through under the passenger seat support so I will be removing it to repair the rust. Since I will have to modify the tunnel anyway to install the 3650, I was thinking that instead of purchasing a custom rear crossmember, it wouldn't be a big deal to drill out the spot welds and relocate the rear crossmember support so I could use the stock rear crossmember.
Right now I have more time than money, and don't mind some drilling and welding.
Any comments either pro or con will be appreciated
