I' ve got an opertunity to buy a 393 long block thats together crank, pistons etc... the guy just never finish building it so my question is how hard and how much would it be for me to finish building it and make it fuel injected. Also what type of heads and intake do you put on this??

393 is a stroked 351w. Search "351w swap".........if you don't find whatever information you need there I will be very surprised.

I would put afr 205's or a set of vic jr heads and a vic jr intake. swapping in a stroked 351w is easy.

At what stage of completion is this thing? If it is not too far along I would pull it back apart and do the assy myself. Sometimes people just run out of time to finish a project, but other times the just get frustrated because they don't know what they are doing. It is the latter you want to watch out for.
Then again I am a little weird about things sometimes.

I have a 351w swap FAQ on my site. I have posted it here before but it is pretty long and the formatting on this site is a little tough to deal with. The font size always gets hosed. You will be able to find it here with a search though.
This writeup should answer your questions on the efi portion as well.

Are you converting a 5.0 HO to a efi Windsor? I am asking to find out what equipment you may already have.

The swap is fun and fairly straight forward. And by the way, it is very rewarding
Good Luck,
jason

Pull it back apart...you never know if your buying someone else's mistake...or at least take it to a machine shop to let them inspect it it could have spun a bearing or anything and you'd just be buying a pile of poo...and long block's usually have heads already installed short blocks dont come with heads I would wanna know what type of heads it has on there already, who built it do they have the receipts etc etc. get as much info on it as you can then post it here so we can give you a better idea of what your getting...swapping to a 351 or any 351 based engine is easy especially if you have a 5.0 mustang already
