What do you guys think about the 393 stroker combo below? Any areas for improvement? Haven't picked a camshaft. Any recommendations on the cam specs. Anyone running a combo similiar? What HP and torque numbers do you think I will see? The block is a 1969 351w which is bored .040" over. The car will be mainly for the street (1970 Mustang Mach 1) and will have a 5 speed tranny (Tremec TKO600 or T-5 w/ G-Force internals) and 3.89 gears. Is a high volume oil pump needed for this application? Will the compression (10.2:1) using 93 octane be safe for the street?

AFR 205's (58cc) w/ Ti retainers
SCAT 393 Forged 4340 Crankshaft
Probe Forged Pistons - (19.3cc dish) (10.2:1)
Probe 6.200 Lightweight 4340 Rods
Vic Jr. Intake Manifold
Speed Demon 850 Carb w/ mechanical secondaries
Comp Pro Magnums 1.6 ratio 7/16 studs
Custom Hydraulic Roller Camshaft - specs not yet determined
Edelbrock Victor Series Water Pump
Steel Main Girdle w/ ARP studs

I think it sounds nice. Since you're getting a Scat crank, you might want to get an internally balanced one. I looked at their catalogue, and they're not TOO much more expensive, and they only make them from billets, they don't have a forged version. Like that's bad though. lol

As for a suggestion which you're much more likely to actually not laugh at, get girdles for your rockers too.

Oh man then you could get billet titanium rods and pistons made up and set the limiter at like 15000rpm WOOT! Too far? :D
