One of the first mods I purchased for the car was a 3G alt because the previous ower had put on some underdrive pullies. Well I was getting tired of my headlight dimming so on went the new alt. The problem is at the time I was VERY nervous about touching the engine bay it being a new car and all. Basically I half-assed the job and only installed the alt and did not upgrade the wiring. Hence Im STILL having charging problems. Does anyone have a link to a good install guide with pictures that would show me how to rout the wires, what kind to get and all that fun stuff? Thanks !

As requested...

Here's websites with pictures of the 3G (94 Mustang and later 130 amp alt) installation procedure...

See http://www.geocities.com/smithmonte/Auto/3G_130A_Alternator_Upgrade.htm - all the tech data you could ever want to know
OR
http://www.mustangcentral.net/tech/alternator.html - excellent pictures of the installation

See these sites for the right way to do the wiring. Some people will tell you that you can skip the wiring upgrade, but it will catch up with you sooner or later. A fire in the wiring harness is ugly and expensive.

Under no circumstances connect the two 10 gauge black/white wires to the 3G alternator. If the fuse blows in the 4 gauge wire, the two 10 gauge wires may be overloaded to the point of catching fire and burning up the wiring harness.

I used the PA wire upgrade(nice piece). After i installed the 3G it was still dimming at idle so i swapped the pully off the old alternator(little smaller) and i cant make the car go under 14V(everything on at idle).

P.S. as stated above i would also not use the stock wiring(is it worth your car burning up before your eyes? If you havent seen a electical fire you never want to see one!).
