i have a question about the 3G alternator! i know they are on 94-95 mustangs but are they on all of them or only on the 4.6? would they be on a 6cyl car also? the reason I'm asking is I'm going to go to the wreckers today and try to find one for my 5.0 also if i do find one is there any special brackets needed to install this or will it fit in the stock location? i have the wiring diagram that someone has supplied on here ! so any help would be great thanks guys!

Any 94-95 Mustang has the 3G alternator you want. The 6 cylinder & V8 alternators are the same.

You use the same alternator mount bracket. A little cutting and filing makes everything fit.

See http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=646825 for all the 3G install information you will ever need.

OK guys i got all the parts i said i was going to get! got the alternator for 60$ got the mass air for 50$ and the aluminum drive shaft for 75$ ! so all in all i say i made out OK! i have the wiring diagram for install of alternator and i know how to do the mass air! but Ive never done a drive shaft before! i remember someone saying i needed u-joints from napa 353? i believe! i went now I'm in Canada remember so the #'s might not be the same! the ones they have under 353 are ones for ford trucks and ones for amc! so my question is which ones do i need? do i need 2 or 1? and on the aluminum drive shaft i have bought it still has everything attached to it! I'm assuming these are the u-joints! and if so do i need to take these off and how! i know you have to remove the little clips but after that im stuck! i know you have to hit it to make them pop out but I'm not sure where to hit!never done this before! i can take a motor out and build a 400hrsp motor but i cant figure this drive shaft u-joint thing out! LOL any help would be good or pics if anyone has any or links to picks or instructions thanks guys sorry for the long post!

Jrichker has info on the changes needed for an AWD Aerostar DS swap.
I use a ball joint press to remove the caps on the U-joints. You can also use sockets that are just bigger and smaller than the caps (for pressing the caps in and out with a hammer) but that's kinda brutal.

A mod motor MAF is not a plug and play modification. The transfer curve is different than that of the stock MAF.

Good luck with the new stuff!

That's the right one. I thought you donor car was a 97. My bad.

Wait for Jrichker's post but your 353 U-joint sticks in my mind as being correct.
