What length belt is needed when you upgrade to the 3g alt? Mine seems to be a couple inches short even at full release of the tensioner.

Your belt length shouldn't be any different than what's on there now. a 2.75" alternator pulley diameter is close enough to stock that it isn't going to change the length of the belt any. There should be more than enough slack in the tensioner to take it up? Have you made any other changes? Underdrive pulleys? A/C, or smog pump delete?

Also if you have factory or dealer ac it could make a difference.

factory AC. no other changes. The previous belt was a PITA to get on and took my and my brother-in-law to squeeze it on.

How about this just minus 2-3 inches from your current size and get that. Or measure out a piece of string.

Don't add any more than 1/2"-1" to your belt length. If you go "2+ inches, I guarantee that your tensioner won't take up the slack. You want that sucker nice n tight.

Also....different manufacturers belts will vary in length....even if they're stated to be the same. I'd buy a couple of each and keep the one that fits best. Remember....don't run the car with the belt on, unless you plan on keeping it. They may not allow you to return it if they see signs of use.

I think I'm gonna try this one. seems to be about an inch or so longer than the stocker. Man I hope this works.
