I am installing a new 130 amp alternator. I did a search for installion tips already. Several sites conflict each other. Do I connect the 2 large black and orange wires and tape them off, or do I put ring connectors on each one and connect them to the back of the alternator the same place as the new 4 gauge wire from the starter soleinod? Also I have 12 gauge fuselink wire for the 4 gauge wire to the starter soleinod. Tell me the best way to install this.

Black/Orange wires do not get connected to the new alternator.

If you do use the Black/Orange wires, you bypass the fuse or fuse link in the 4 gauge wire. If the 4 gauge fuse blows, then all the current goes through the Black/Orange wires and can make a nasty fire

Here's websites with pictures of the 3G ( 94 Mustang and later 130 amp alt) installation procedure...

Thanks. Allright I won't use the 2 orange and black wires. Can I just leave them attatched to the big plug that won't be used? I already looked at those 3 sites and they gave me good tips, but I still don't know how to use the 12 gauge fuselink wire with the 4 gauge wire?
