Ok, here is the story
my mechanic is a nice guy but for some reason i feel like he skips certain things when he does the work but nevermind that
here is my sad story... the car has about 120K and the i felt vibrations, bla bla bla and it turns out i was right the h/b went bad
so the next morning my mechanic replaced it with a brand new stocker
this piece went bad in about 3 weeks
so i pulled an h/b off a fox motor the guy had in the shop and we put it on
seemed fine for about a week or two and today the car started jerking when i take off a light, while parking, at idle..
so i thought it cant be the h/b again but it turns out its wobbling again
WHY IS MY CAR HATING ON THESE H/B's?? do i put a new replacement piece on, go sfi, is the crank damaged, pullies ?? ideas pleaseeee

thank you guys :SNSign:

I went threw 3 stock (2 autozone and 1 advanced) no name HB's and all went bad within 5-6k miles. I got a pioneer non SFI unit and been good for 2-3yrs (although I dont drive it much) and have heard great things about the brand.

the 94-95 HB is kinda known as a failure issue. If you drove it with a bad HB for awhile you may have damaged some bearings as it can cause an un-even load on them. If your really worried about it put a oil press. guage on it and see if its got low pres.

Make sure you get a 94-95 HB the fox one is diff. IIRC...cant recall as to what the issue is but know there is somthing

my pressure is still the same as its been since i got the car so... i think i can rule that out and replaced the front seal when i did the h/b for the very first time so no more squirting oil around the h/b

I could see that many going bad if they were installed improperly. If they were just tapped on vs. using the correct installer tool, it'd probably do quite a bit of damage to the elastomer. I can't say that's what was done of course, but it's a question that may be worth asking (so you know whether or not to switch mechanics).

I replaced my stock one with another from Advanced Auto, and it didn't even last a week. The shaft of the balancer actually cracked on the keyway. I checked the crank for too much end play, looked OK, so I threw down the money for a Romac. It has been fine for the last 2 years.
The Romac unit fit soooo much tighter on the crank.

I see by your post count you're kinda new!

Welcome to 94-95 :SNSign:

There are quite a few smart peeps here
and
Many peeps who've had lots of experience with Stangs

A quick search would have shown your experience with hb's to
be similar to many others

Just wanted to make you aware of our large database of knowledge
that is at your disposal if you don't get the the info you seek from a
posted Question.

I can add myself to the list of peeps who had an OEM hb go bad

The SFI Pioneer goes for around 180-190 bucks. Strokermotor used to have decent prices on balancers in general.

Good luck.

I lost my HD last year and my front engine cover in the process. I replaced it with a Romac steel / aluminum unit and have been very pleased.
