This might sounds weird but does anyone know the cam shaft diameter between the front cam lobe and the front cam main ?
I was talking to one of the guys I work with on what a pain in the a$$ it is to change the cam phasers on a 3v motor and that ford should have thought of a better way to change them. and we got to thinking that in stead of removing the lifters why not make a tool to hold the cam from moving while you changed the phaser. so we figured that if we could find out the cam shaft diameter that we could machine two set's of vise grips and use the head as leverage to hold the cam from moving. I have to do the phaser's in my 05 f-150 with a 5.4 3v . and I thought this would be the place with the best ideas and experience in dealing with these motors. anyone with info would be great. hey if anyone is close to Orange County NY and has a stock cam. I'd buy it cheap
