4.10s + 1/4 = worse

I went to the drag strip today and let me tell you the 4.10's did nothing! I went over and over and with the stock gears i was running 14.2's all day long. With 4.10's, illumina's and h&r springs i've ran 14.5's all day long. My best run was this:

I noticed 2nd to 3rd chirped and 3rd to 4th was chirping. It might have been the fact it looked like it was going to pour bot still. I was hoping to break into the 13's......only 2nd time to the strip and illumina's were 1 in the front and 3 in the rear

Bud, you got a problem with the car and it aint the gears. something is robbing you up top. With the 60 foot and 1/8 improvement, you should be in the mid 13's. I would pull your fuel filter if not done recently. You are obviously loosing a lot on top.
 
hey, are these numbers adjusted for weather and altitude? That could be your problem too. Course, the altitude is the same if the runs are at the same track, but as the car revs higher it relies more on having dry, cool air. A warmer, humid day could kill .5 of the 1/4 easy.
 
with the weather up here in the NE i'm willing to bet it was mainly due to the weather, cause it's very been hot & humid. but if you don't think that is it, i would definately check the fuel filter. because gears & suspension isn't gunna hurt you, it has to be something else ;)
 
yes it was a 1.767 60ft. when i got a 14.140. I honestly have no idea how i did it it was my 2nd run and all my other runs i had 2.2 60 ft times. I wish i knew how i got it. I did about 15 runs or so. I was shifting at 5500rpms even tried at redline a couple of times. The weather was humid, hot, and looked like it was going to rain(towards the end it was foggy). I riched the top end with the diablo and that was good for a couple .2 . I was really pissed today. I did chirp every gear except for the switch to 4th. How can i shift without chirping. I'm like next do i do control arms or mid pipe?
 
i have to shift up a little ways not right away you know how ever long it normally takes to shift out of 1st. i'm looking into some drag radials and control arms instead of x-pipe. basicly the same price. I dont know about the fuel filter probely has never been changed. I got the car with 42k on it and it has 58k now so i'll check into that. Where is the filter on these cars?

Believe it is located right above the rear differential. You're gunna need a special fuel filter removal clip type thingy...if that clears it up at all. Better yet try here.
