4.10s + 1/4 = worse

Jiffy Lube changes fuel filters out here for $40. Better than dripping gas on a my new driveway. But, you can buy them for under $10. If not done yet on your car at all with that many miles BINGO, this could be the problem. Need to change that thing at 40k at least and if the guy knew he was getting rid of the car, he probably left it alone.

Crawl under the car and look for it. Look for any markings/stickers on it that might indicate it was swapped (any non Ford markings). But, if $40 is not an issue for you, swap it out.

A slightly blocked fuel filter will cause a loss in performance at higher fuel demands.

After the filter is replaced, get some cleaner and run it through the car. Don't do this if you think the filter is old, otherwise you may just end up moving crap from the filter to your injectors.

go to your local ford dealership and buy a motorcraft fuel filter for 10 bucks. then go to any auto parts store and buy a fuel line removel tool kit for like 10 bucks and do it yourself. takes about 5 minutes and then you have the tool to do it again. i change mine every 10,000 miles. i also put 4.10's in and didn't notice much improvement, but i just think i'm still trying to figure out the shifting. it's different with the 4.10's the shifts come real quick. my best before the gears was 13.63 and my best with gears and bfg dr's was 13.62. with that 60 ft time you should easily be in the 13's. my best 60 ft was only a 1.99. good luck

yes it was a 1.767 60ft. when i got a 14.140. I honestly have no idea how i did it it was my 2nd run and all my other runs i had 2.2 60 ft times. I wish i knew how i got it. I did about 15 runs or so. I was shifting at 5500rpms even tried at redline a couple of times. The weather was humid, hot, and looked like it was going to rain(towards the end it was foggy). I riched the top end with the diablo and that was good for a couple .2 . I was really pissed today. I did chirp every gear except for the switch to 4th. How can i shift without chirping. I'm like next do i do control arms or mid pipe?

You probably are experiencing what I experienced the 4.10s - you are losing major ET on the 1-2 and 2-3 shift. I'm betting, based on what you've posted, that you are slipping the tires badly when you shift on the 1-2 and 2-3. In fact, I'll bet you are powershifting, which from my experience you just can't do with 4.10s and street tires. My best ET at MCIR was 14.1 before DRs and 13.8 after DRs. And that's with the same 60' times as with the stock Goodyears! My gains were almost entirely from reducing/eliminating tire slippage on the 1-2 and 2-3 shift.

One other though - someone already mentioned this - but your 18 rims are also probably not helping much. Do you have a lower profile tire than the stock tires? If so, then there's another problem that's only excacerbated by the 4.10s.

Don't sweat it - you had a 60' time I'd kill for. Kill that sideways slippage action and you'll easily knock .3-.4 tenths off your times.

i'll have my g/f scan the timeslip it was a 1.767. Again i have no idea how the hell i did but i did
I dont care what the slip said, unless you dead hooked at a 4500+rpm launch you didnt pull a 1.7. Trust me i have enough passes to know. Something F'ed up. You need to practice before you start saying 4.10s are making you slower, its you not the gear.
