Should I get 4.10's for my 96 5-speed GT? If so where can I get a complete kit with all the stuff necessary for the cheapest price. Another quick question, what do you think my car would run with a 4.10? I have an o/r x-pipe, flowmaster catback, and thats pretty much it so far. I just bought my car a week ago, and thats all I've done so far. I also put eibach sportlines on it.

with the stock heads I wouldnt go more than 3.73. Unless of course you are getting PI heads then I say go for it.

I love my gears very much. It woke up my car BIG time

I think my gears helped on my 1/8th mile times too.

I think it is my best investment so far.

He's probably referring to the NPIs (with NPI cams and intake) running out of breath at approx 4200 rpm. Typical shift points at the track for us NPIs is 5krpm whereas PIs usually shift at approx 5500+rpm. So basically you get into and out of the power band a little too quick with the 4:10s and stock NPIs. I'm hoping to cure that with a PI cam and PI intake combo though and add some motive 3:90s later on.

Any idea what the car would run in the 1/4 with underdrive pulleys, short throw shifter, o/r x-pipe, flowmaster catback, and 4.10's?

What if I were to slap a set of Nitto D/R's on it? Do you think it could break 13's then?

If it stays dry here I'm headed to the track next friday. Hopefully I can get a good run.
