Ok, here's the deal. I see a fellow stanger on the highway revving at me. I just had to chase him down. As I got closer to him, things got ugly. We ended up going 135-140mph (honest to God) for over 2 minutes. Well, as I got to 110 it started sounding like a freight train inside my car, and my car was beginning to shake. I kinda thought that it would go away, so I kept on going. When I hit 140 I couldn't even hear the wind, the whine was so loud. I finally let off after he finally let me pass him. We pulled over and talked. I was so nervous that my legs were shaking. Am I f**cking up my rear end? It may be normal, but I have NEVER been over 120, so excuse me for asking....

You should have minimal to no whine, no extra vibration over stock. I had 4.10s put in mine with zero issues (but I did get an Al driveshaft installed just in case).

the shaking is not your gears, its your driveshaft. You need to get your driveshaft balanced. I had this same problem with my car when i would hit 4grand rpm doing over 110, and then it would go away at like 5grand rpm. Just take your driveshaft off and have a shop balance it for you.

If you hear a -whining- sound that is very high-pitched. Then THAT is your gears, and your mechanic did not 'shim' the gears properly and he should shim them again. Hope that helps.

I agree...the vibration is either tires or driveshaft. The gears shouldn't cause a vibration unless they broke...and then the car wouldn't move. These cars are not known to be real stable at high speeds.

check your driveshaft. if you want to be extra sure about your driveshaft, it wouldnt be a bad idea to get an aluminum one from summitracing.com. They seem to have one of the better prices plus shipping.

I want an aluminum driveshaft, but I have an automatic and I don't really want to go through the trouble of modifying it. But I kinda figured the shaking was from the tires and sombody told me it may also be the torque converter that's whining. But I still think that there's something not completely right with the gears. Well, if anybody knows where I can get a driveshaft for my auto 4r70w, I'd trulty appreciate it...
