Finally. 4.10's and all new bearings in every place in the rear end, trak-loc rebuild.

I cant WAIT for these things to cool down so I can take it out and beat the wee wee out of it...

sumitomos are quite possibly the worst tire you can buy. youre money would be better spend on alcohal that would damage you liver than those sorry excuses for tires.

Holy old and dead thread this is.

I just realized I didnt even re-post the results in here.

So, to any newbs that are reading this and may have a gear question...

Heres what happend.

Early the next morning I took the car out. I caught one red light, pole position.

Light turns green, I give the car hell. I was BLOWN AWAY by the performance of the 4.10's. It really pulled the motor right into the power band and kept it there.

Dont fear the gear!!! I STILL enjoy knowing I have 4.10's even to this day.

I knocked down 23-24 MPG pulling nearly 3k rpm for an extended interstate trip, even through some baby mountains.

Do it.

Give it a week and youll want 4.30's like me.

But don't get me wrong. 4.10's are a good choice.

Edit... Didn't realize how old this thread was.

My buddy had 4.30's in his auto GT before he sold it.

3200 stall, performance rebuild on the trans, 4.30's, and nitrous. Hot freakin damn that was a fun car.

4.30's would be too steep for me though, I do a bit of highway driving... 4.10's fit my bill great. If not them then 3.90's.

Duh, dual 4.10's = 8.20's...

Yeah I am a little worried about spray if I ever get some. I have come really close to buying a kit on 2 seperate occasions, but I ended up not...

I have some 28" tall DR's so I MIGHT be able to squeeze down the end of the track without running out of gear.

or go with option 2 like i am since gearing is going to start becoming a problem since 4th i think ends at like 120 i am going to throw some cams and heads on there and up the redline some to squeeze some more speed out of it.

i did just fine with 4.10's and a 26" tire on nitrous.

Yeah 120 would be nice, 4th ends around 110 for me. If you end up trapping that on the strip you are doing damn good...

yea but thats with a raised limiter too. with the limiter set at stock i wouldnt risk it cause you may hit it. on a 28" tire you will probably be fine though.
