4.10's are the s**t. I had 3.55's before and it could wind out in 5th gear with my t5, it was well over the 270kph mark using gps before I let off. The 4.10's will wind out in 5th easier obvioulsy, but I didn't get the 4.10's for top speed, it is the best ratio for my mods and my 1/4 mile run, plus it is great for cruisin the strip. It runs about 2300rpm on the highway @120kph which is acceptable for the amount of cruising on the hightway that I do.

Horsepower/Aerodynamics limits your top end more than gears do.

I had 4.10s in a 93GT that a sold a few years back. They were great for awhile. I could pull 1.60 short times with slicks at the track, but after awhile the 4.10s were too much for the quarter mile. I got to the point that if I was going to go any faster at the track I would have to step down to 3.73. With the factory computer rev limit at 6250, the revs were maxed out going through the lights in 4th. The 4.10s were fun on the street, but It wasn't a daily driver.

If you have a sc you dont need 410's for this!! Plus they are to much for a sc.

Only thing I hate about 4.10's in mine is a total lack of traction on the street through 1st and 2nd gears. Well, that and 1st gear is so brief that it's almost pointless. Gas mileage between 4.10's and 3.73's is probably negligible. I have no intentions of finding out what my absolute top speed is because ... 1. I'm not so insane as to try it out on the street/highway, 2. I don't have the funds/resources to try it on some kinda NASCAR or IRL circle track or the Salt Flats, and 3. The speedo doesn't read very accurately as your speeds get way up there above regular highway cruising speeds, so it's likely reading a lot higher than you're actually going.

The average top-end for most 'Stangs runs around 140mph due to aerodynamics, unless you're pushing a buttload of horses under the hood. Coincidentally, this is also the same top speed of your average Crown Vic Police Interceptor. Hmmmm...

Fellow Canadian,I'm going to call you on that Highway rpm number with 4.10's.Even with 3.55's you would be a bit above 2300 rpm at 120kph (approx.75 mph for the Americans). Is your speedo off?

4.10s if it's all motor, 3.73s or less if you've got forced induction. If your car never sees the track, go with 3.73s. I've got 4.10s in mine and it sees daily driving dutys pretty regularly, and that's a 50 mile round trip just to work, and i can tolerate more hastle with a DD than most. My car sounds really roudy, and with the 4.10s you pretty much have to ride the RPMs up just to stay with traffic in stop and go driving. Highways aren't that terrible unless you like to drive 70+. At about 65-70 my car is running right at about 23-2500 RPM, and that's on 215/65/15 pizza cutters that are on there for temporary. Aside from all that though, 4.10s are more fun to play with

I have had both. 410's are by far better for fun and bottom end. go with them unless you do alot of interstate driving.
